6 months agoVancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller (undisclosed) will be in the lineup against Chicago on Tuesday. According to Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet, Miller is "dealing with some stuff," and he was a game-time decision for Tuesday's contest, but the prolific American is set to remain in the lineup. Miller hasn't yet made much noise this season, logging two goals and one assist in five contests. However, he has been a point-per-game player for three consecutive campaigns, and it should only be a matter of time before Miller regains his scoring form. A matchup against a weak Blackhawks squad seems to be a good spot for picking up some momentum.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 month agoNew York Rangers center J.T. Miller (illness) did not participate in Thursday's practice session due to illness. Fantasy managers should continue to keep an eye on his status leading up to their next contest on Friday evening against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 31-year-old has enjoyed a recent offensive surge, riding a three-game point streak. During this stretch, Miller has found the back of the net three times and added two helpers. Since being acquired by the Rangers earlier in February, Miller has tallied nine points through eight contests. He has tallied an impressive 29 hits and logged 14 shots on goal. If Miller were to sit out during Friday's contest, Mika Zibanejad will likely take his spot on the second line and play alongside Will Cuylle and Chris Krieder. Jonny Brodzinski could also have an increased role in Friday's contest as well.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 months agoAccording to Frank Seravalli of DailyFaceoff.com, the New York Rangers have acquired center J.T. Miller from the Vancouver Canucks. The Rangers sent Filip Chytil and Victor Mancini a conditional first-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft. In addition, the Rangers acquired Jackson Dorrington and Erik Brannstrom. Miller began his career in New York after being selected with the 15th-overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft. Through his first five seasons with the Blueshirts (278 games), Millers tallied 132 points (59 goals, 73 helpers). He began his sixth season with the Rangers but was eventually traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning that season. After tallying a career-high 103 points in 2023, Miller has taken a step back this season, scoring just nine goals with 26 assists. Fantasy managers should expect Miller to have a key role in the New York offense. He is expected to suit up on Saturday afternoon to face the Boston Bruins.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

4 months agoVancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller (personal) will return to the lineup on Thursday against Florida. He has missed 10 games while dealing with a personal issue. Miller has averaged slightly below a point per game this season, recording six goals and 10 assists in 17 appearances. We should see him in a top-six role and on the first power-play unit. Miller's return will likely impact Pius Suter's usage. Before exiting the lineup, Miller had a productive run of five points in four games, but he might be a bit rusty initially after missing several weeks of action.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 months agoVancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller is taking an indefinite leave for personal reasons, the team announced Tuesday. Miller exits the lineup as Vancouver's second-best scorer. He has totaled 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 17 outings. Elias Pettersson is set to step into the top-line center role on Tuesday versus the Rangers, while the team has recalled winger Arshdeep Bains from the AHL. Bains is averaging a point per game in the minors but has been limited to one goal in eight NHL appearances. Miller's absence also looks to benefit Dakota Joshua, who only recently made his season debut.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
