J.T. Chargois Electrifies In Dodgers Debut
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers reliever J.T. Chargois provided one of the few bright spots for the team during their 1-0 Opening Day loss to the Giants. The former Twin, who was claimed off of waivers after missing the entire 2017 season, retired the top of the Giants order on just 12 pitches, striking out two. Ten of those pitches were strikes. Chargois has always had stellar numbers in the minors (10.6 K/9 in 2016 at Double-A and Triple-A), but he has yet to translate that success to the majors. His injuries have limited him, but if he's healthy, the Dodgers may have found the perfect bridge (if not heir) to closer Kenley Jansen. If manager Dave Roberts keeps bringing in Chargois in the later innings, he's a great source of holds and should help your ratios.
