J.D. Martinez Smacks Home Run No. 22
7 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez homered and walked in the team's 5-1 victory over the Orioles. Martinez walked and came around to score in the fifth, then hit an opposite-field solo shot in the seventh. He has been everything the Red Sox could have hoped for this season. He is second in home runs with 22, first in RBI with 55 and third in slugging percentage at .650. All Martinez has to do is stay healthy and he will finish as one of the top fantasy hitters for the season. Martinez also has an outside shot at the triple crown, as he is eighth in batting average at .313, though it would require passing his teammate Mookie Betts, who is currently atop the leaderboard.
