5 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (back), who left the game early with back spasms on Thursday, is being listed as day-to-day. Manager Alex Cora said Martinez is feeling better and hopes to return on Saturday. The injury may limit how much the team uses him in the outfield moving forward. Eduardo Nunez is serving as the designated hitter and is batting sixth on Friday against Rays starting pitcher Yonny Chirinos. Nunez is hitting a mediocre .248/.267/.337 with only two home runs, 15 RBI and five stolen bases in 101 at-bats this year. Martinez remains one of the best all-around hitters in the game, so get him back into your lineups if he comes back on Saturday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
