J.D. Davis To Start Rehab Assignment Wednesday
4 years agoNew York Mets third baseman J.D. Davis (finger) plans to begin a minor league rehab assignment on Wednesday. Davis has been out since early may with a sprained left middle finger and was recently moved to the 60-day injured list, but he's eligible to return on July 1 and will likely return to the team shortly after that, barring a setback on his rehab assignment. The 28-year-old was really hot before his injury, batting .390 with a 1.089 OPS and 19.2% barrel rate in 48 plate appearances. If for some reason he was relegated to the waiver wire in your league, you should be looking to add him now and stash him until he is activated. Luis Guillorme, who has been playing the hot corner, should go back to more of a bench role when Davis is ready to return.
