J.D. Davis Remains Offensive Bright Spot For Mets
4 years agoNew York Mets third baseman/outfielder J.D. Davis went 2-for-3 with a walk in the Mets' 2-1 loss to the Phillies on Friday. Davis, along with Brandon Nimmo, remains one of the lone bright spots for the struggling Mets' offense through the early part of 2021. Davis is now slashing .395/.489/.632 with two home runs, three doubles, and six RBI over 38 at-bats. Despite the possibility of losing playing time due to defensive issues at third base, the Mets can ill afford to put Davis on the bench while they struggle at the plate. This, combined with the fact that infielder Luis Guillorme (oblique) was recently placed on the injured list, should keep Davis' bat in the lineup as a regular for the foreseeable future. As a result, Davis remains a solid third base/corner infield option in many fantasy formats.
