8 months agoThe San Francisco Giants have released infielder J.D. Davis on Monday. San Francisco signed free agent third baseman Matt Chapman to a three-year, $54 million contract, making Davis expendable. Davis went unclaimed after the Giants placed him on waivers Saturday and will become a free agent. The Giants will pay a small portion of his $6.9 million contract. Davis slashed .248/.325/.413 with 18 home runs, 69 RBI, 61 runs, and a stolen base over 544 plate appearances in 2023. The 30-year-old will look to latch onto an MLB team in search of first base or third base help. Now a free agent, Davis is mainly an option in deep-league formats.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
