J.D. Davis Exits Early Tuesday
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman J.D. Davis was pulled from Tuesday's game early after injuring his right ankle during a slide into third base, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports. Prior to his exit, he was 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout. Hopefully, this is just a precaution, as Davis is producing arguably the best numbers of his career, slashing .284/.368/.476 with nine homers, 29 runs, 35 RBI, and a single steal over 62 games, and has cemented himself at the hot corner. If the former third-rounder does miss time, fantasy managers can expect more at-bats for Casey Schmitt, who's been regulated to more of a platoon role recently. But, he's hitting .277 with two long balls and two stolen bases across 30 games, decent production in deeper leagues.
