J.C. Ramirez Close To A Return?
5 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher J.C. Ramirez (elbow), who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, is close to making his season debut with the Angels. Ramirez made his second start for Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday and allowed five hits and three earned runs while striking out three and walking two in six innings for a quality start. Expectations should be tempered for him coming off Tommy John surgery, but Ramirez could be a deep league streamer if all goes well. The 30-year-old right-hander had a 4.15 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 6.4 K/9 in 24 starts (three relief appearances) in 2017 for the Halos. Take a wait-and-see approach in mixed leagues.
