5 months agoVegas Golden Knights left wing Ivan Barbashev scored twice in their victory over the Ottawa Senators on Friday evening. The 28-year-old got his first tally of the evening off a re-direct off Alex Pietrangelo's shot from the point. In the final minute, Barbashev would score the empty-netter to seal the victory. Through the first eight games of the season, Barbashev has tallied an impressive seven goals and four assists. In addition, he has registered 16 shots, 15 hits, and five blocks with +5 rating. Fantasy managers should continue to keep Barbashev in their lineup and target him in DFS contests as he is enjoying a productive start to the season playing alongside Jack Eichel and Mark Stone on the top line.

Ivan Barbashev Busy On Thursday
1 month agoVegas Golden Knights left wing Ivan Barbashev tallied four points during their 7-5 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday evening. Barbashev tallied his first point in the opening frame on a secondary assist on Nicholas Hague's goal. Later in this frame, Barbashev found the back of the net on the power-play. In the second, Barbashev tallied the primary helper on Keegan Kolesar's strike. Then in the final frame, Barbashev found the back of the net, this time on a tip-in during 5-on-5 play. Entering this contest, Barbashev tallied two points (one goal) over his last four contests. Over his last 12 games, Barbashev has tallied nine points and held a strong +9 rating. He remains a solid option in deeper formats during his recent surge. He will look to continue this offensive production on Sunday against the New Jersey Devils.

Ivan Barbashev On Track To Return Saturday
3 months agoVegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev (upper body) is on track to return to the lineup on Saturday against the Rangers. Barbashev was a full participant in Friday's practice and has been activated from Injured Reserve. He has missed nearly a month of action, sitting out 10 games. Despite the long absence, Barbashev shares the team lead in goals with 15 and has had a good scoring rate on the first line this season. The Russian forward has bagged 30 points in 31 games. Tanner Pearson is expected to drop back to the fourth line with Barbashev's return.

Ivan Barbashev, Nicolas Roy Remain Out Monday
3 months agoVegas Golden Knights forwards Ivan Barbashev (upper body) and Nicolas Roy (upper body) will remain out for Monday's contest against Anaheim. Both players are unavailable for a third consecutive game. Pavel Dorofeyev has enjoyed first-line usage during Barbashev's absence but will skate on the third line on Monday, with Victor Olofsson elevated to the top line. On Monday, a line shakeup will also see Keegan Kolesar join the top six. Kolesar is fresh off a two-point game, while Olofsson has also recently enjoyed a good offensive spell, averaging a point per game across his last five appearances.

Ivan Barbashev Unavailable Thursday
3 months agoVegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev (upper body) will be sidelined for Thursday's clash against Vancouver. Barbashev suffered an upper-body injury on Sunday versus Minnesota and hasn't been able to practice this week. The 29-year-old lands on the shelf after amassing 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) in 31 games. With Barbashev unavailable, Pavel Dorofeyev is expected to join Jack Eichel and Mark Stone on the first line. Dorofeyev has had a decent campaign with 12 goals and 18 points in 31 appearances. He'll have additional fantasy value as long as Barbashev remains out.
