Isan Diaz Optioned To Triple-A
3 years agoMiami Marlins infielder Isan Diaz was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville before Friday's game. Diaz was one of the worst players in all of baseball this season, but still got everyday playing time because Don Mattingly has no idea what he's doing. In 126 plate appearances, Diaz hit .146 with a 29.4 K%. He was also a liability on defense and on the bases, leading the team in pickoffs. Diaz started his everyday role at second base when Jazz Chisholm landed on the injured list. After Brian Anderson (shoulder) ended up on the IL as well, Diaz became the everyday third baseman and no number of 0-for-4 games could get him out of the lineup. Diaz will head back to Jacksonville and likely play third base to continue his "development" at that position.
