Isaac Paredes Homers, Plates Four Tuesday
4 months agoChicago Cubs corner infielder Isaac Paredes had a nice game at the plate in Tuesday's 7-3 win over the Twins. Paredes went 2-for-3 with a single, a three-run home run, four RBI, and a walk. The 25-year-old got things started for the Cubs, hitting a first-inning Pablo Lopez fastball into the left-field netting for his first HR as a Cub and his 17th long ball of the season. Paredes has shown neither the batting average potential nor the power potential he displayed in 2023 and is now slashing .239/.348/.427 with 46 runs scored and 59 RBI in 462 plate appearances. He has struggled offensively in the second half, but a shift to a stronger lineup may help him get things going.
