1 year agoTyler Reddick will start Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol from the 23rd position, his worst starting position of the year so far. In five starts at BMS, the 23XI Racing driver has three top-15 finishes with only one inside the Top 5, which he scored in 2020 while driving for Richard Childress Racing. In practice, Reddick did not approach the Top 10 in any categories on speed except for 20,25, and 30-consecutive lap averages, while his overall lap average ranked 26th. Reddick did score two top-10 finishes in the last two races this year, but history does point towards him struggling to move through the field and his equipment showcased in pre-race events does not indicate Reddick will have speed compared to most of the field. While DFS players might consider Reddick based on his potential place differential upside, he only has two finishes with positive PD in his Cup career at BMS. Although Reddick is usable, there are more favorable options in the field around the same salary range or below that look more favorable than Reddick this week.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller

6 days agoTyler Reddick of 23XI Racing will start ninth for Sunday's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway after qualifying. Reddick's starting position for this week's race will be the second time that he will ever start in the top 10 at Martinsville. In 10 races at the Virginia short track, Reddick has two top-10 finishes, which include his ninth-place finish in last year's spring Martinsville race. After six races so far this season, Reddick has three top-10 finishes and an average finish of 12.7. In practice, Reddick ranked 20th in overall lap averages and failed to rank inside the top 10 in all categories on speed compared to the field. Based on his overvalued salary being around $7,700, low upside, and slow practice speeds, Reddick is a fade for DFS lineups this week, especially with Martinsville being one of his worst tracks statistically.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoTyler Reddick had a strangely muted run at Homestead, which is conventionally one of his best tracks in the NASCAR Cup Series. After winning last fall's race at Homestead in gallant fashion, he only finished 8th today after running much worse than that for most of the event. Although he gained five positions from 20th to 15th on the opening lap, he fell to 18th at the end of Stage 1 and wouldn't creep into the top ten for good until the later portions of Stage 2 in a race where his teammate Bubba Wallace was one of the fastest drivers. He remained in the top ten continuously in Stage 3 rising as high as 4th, but he was nearly always behind his teammate at one of his best tracks in a curiously mediocre run. Although he still ranks fourth in points, he has yet to make an on-track pass for the lead but it seems likely that will change pretty soon.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoTyler Reddick has amazing upside in DFS this weekend, as the 23XI Racing driver qualified back in 20th for Sunday afternoon's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Reddick is the defending race winner at Homestead and is one of the elite "rim rider" drivers in the series--which is the fastest way to get around this race track. In practice on Saturday afternoon, Reddick posted the ninth-fastest overall lap and ranked sixth-best when it came to 30-lap average. Despite his high price on DraftKings ($10,700), Reddick is still a premiere DFS option on Sunday, as his Place Differential upside is worth the price alone--not even taking into account his race-winning upside and potential dominator status. In five career starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Reddick has finished fourth or better four times, with the only exception being the 2022 race, in which he wrecked out of.--Jordan McAbee

3 weeks agoTyler Reddick of 23XI Racing finished 24th in Sunday's Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In the first stage, Reddick began the race from the 14th position and eventually made it as high as second before fading to 11th by the end of the stage. In the second stage, Reddick looked competitive as he ran most of the stage in the top five, even as others were using differing strategies. The No. 45 Toyota driver would get passed by a couple of drivers by the end of the second stage, as he ended it in ninth and barely scored stage points. In the final stage, Reddick made it to the lead for the first time in the race on lap 201. Reddick led a total of 34 laps for the race until he lost the lead to Daniel Suarez, and then when he went to pit road under green, the No. 45 team had trouble changing the left rear tire. Reddick would be unable to recover from this issue and finished 24th as a result.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
