A.J. Allmendinger will start 37th in Sunday's Grant Park 165 from the streets of Chicago, IL. Because of his reputation as a road course ringer, and considering that he finished 11th in this race last year, Allmendinger was already being looked at as one of the top plays on the slate heading into the weekend. Evidence of this can be seen in the fact that he is priced at $9,000 on DraftKings, a $2,500 increase from where he was priced last week in Nashville. While some may have initially been concerned about paying such a high price for the part-time Cup Series driver, those fears should be erased as he now has a starting position that offers tremendous place differential upside. Given that he moved up 17 spots in this race a year ago, we know he can move his way through the field, which should add to his appeal. Between his efforts in the inaugural street race in 2023, his success on road courses, and his incredibly favorable starting position, A.J. Allmendinger should be considered a core play in DFS this weekend.--Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller
