New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin will be the starter for Thursday's Game 3 of the team's first-round series against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes. The Isles went with Semyon Varlamov for the first two games of the series but the team has been out-scored 8-4 so far in the series. However, Varlamov was the hot hand, posting a 1.85 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage from March 28 to April 15. As for Sorokin, the fellow Russian endured a down season, posting a 3.01 GAA and a .909 Sv% in 55 games, just one season after working to a 2.34 GAA and a .924 Sv% in 62 games while finishing as the Vezina Trophy runner-up behind Boston's Linus Ullmark.--Brenton Kemp
