Vancouver Canucks winger Ilya Mikheyev (knee) will sit out the rest of the preseason, and his status for opening night is up in the air. The 28-year-old is recovering from a torn ACL and looks like he's still a bit away from being fully healthy. Mikheyev has also missed some practice time in training camp for personal reasons. The Russian winger will start the second season of a four-year, $19 million contract in 2023-24. The Canucks get things rolling on Oct. 11 with a home game against the Edmonton Oilers.--Taavi Pailk
