Igor Shesterkin Takes On Pittsburgh
4 years agoNew York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin will face the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday in his 19th start of the season. The 26-year-old is having a mixed season with a 9-8-2 record, a 2.27 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage. Shesterkin had heated up nicely ahead of last week but couldn't beat a struggling Sabres squad in his last start, taking a 3-2 shootout loss. Tuesday's game doesn't provide a good bounce-back spot, as the Penguins have won five of their last six games and their offense is flowing nicely even without Evgeni Malkin (lower body). Shesterkin has gone 1-1-1 in three previous appearances in the matchup this season.
