Ian Kinsler Heating Up In May
6 years agoSan Diego Padres second baseman Ian Kinsler had one of the worst months of his career in April, hitting .133/.209/.241. However, he is 6-for-13 (.462) with two doubles and two home runs so far in May and has emerged in the leadoff spot with Fernando Tatis Jr. (hamstring) on the shelf. He's seen an uptick in exit velocity and a decrease in strikeouts the last couple of weeks. The veteran is still batting only .177 on the season and will need to continue to improve for him to keep his starting job over Greg Garcia and prospect Luis Urias. He should only be used in NL-only leagues despite the fact that he's looked better of late.
