Hyun-Jin Ryu Strains Groin In Monday's Outing
6 years agoUpdating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu left his start early on Monday with a strained left groin. It's the same one he tore last season that forced him to miss three months. The left-hander allowed two hits (one homer) and two runs while walking one and fanning one in just 1 2/3 innings before his exit. It's a troubling sign for his owners and the Dodgers, but at least LA has Kershaw set to return this weekend. If Ryu's injury sidelines him for some time, the young lefty Julio Urias could stick around in the rotation. Ryu had a 3.07 ERA and 8.59 K/9 in his three starts so far this year.
