Hunter Strickland Cleared To Resume Throwing Monday
6 years agoSeattle Mariners closer Hunter Strickland (lat), who has been out the last five weeks with a strained lat, has been cleared to start throwing again next Monday. Strickland still has a long road back and probably won't return to Seattle until sometime in June, but this is a good sign for him. The Mariners late-inning bullpen has been brutal in the absence of the right-hander, with nobody standing out from the trio of Roenis Elias, Anthony Swarzak and Brandon Brennan. Fantasy owners are best off avoiding this situation for the time being until someone establishes themself as a trustworthy option. Strickland should return to his closing role when he's healthy, making him a must-stash.
