Hunter Pence Could Earn Roster Spot
6 years agoTexas Rangers veteran outfielder Hunter Pence is finally healthy and is on his way to earning an Opening Day roster spot for the rebuilding Rangers. The 35-year-old is hitting .356 (16-for-45) with three home runs, seven RBI and six stolen bases in 16 spring games as he tries to make the team. Pence rebuilt his swing in the offseason and looks healthy for now, but there's no guarantee that he'll see everyday at-bats when the regular season starts. Injuries have slowed him down in recent seasons, and he hit just .226 with four homers and 24 RBI in 97 games in his final season with the Giants. Pence is merely a flier in AL-only leagues if he starts on the Opening Day roster.
