Huascar Ynoa Leads Braves To Victory In Game 2
4 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Huascar Ynoa struck out five and gave up just two hits in a career-high five scoreless innings to help beat the Washington Nationals in Game 2 of a doubleheader on Wednesday. Unfortunately he was given a no-decision. The 22-year-old made only five starts in 2020, but he hadn't thrown more than four innings. His four-seam fastball touched 99 mph and averaged 96 mph in the game. Ynoa threw his slider around 50 percent of his 68 pitches and generated 12 swings and misses of the 23 swings he induced. The 22-year-old could get some more chances with Mike Soroka out, and this was a positive development. There could be ups and downs with the right-hander, but he's one worth watching.
