Heliot Ramos Recalled From Triple-A
11 months agoAfter Jorge Soler was placed on the 10-Day IL, the San Francisco Giants recalled outfielder Heliot Ramos from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday. Ramos was immediately slotted into the lineup for the Giants and went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored batting out of the seventh spot in the order. The 24-year-old has seen a limited amount of action with the Giants before in parts of 2022 and 2023, but this is his first action of 2024. He hadn't done much of anything with his prior 82 plate appearances in the majors, but was hitting well for Sacramento so far this season before the call-up, slashing .296/.388/.565 with eight home runs, 21 RBI, 23 runs scored, and a pair of stolen bases in 30 games played. Hopefully he can get things going while Soler is out and perhaps make a push to stick around this time. The right-handed hitter should remain on the waiver wire for now.

Heliot Ramos Blasts Homer In Win
3 days agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos is off to a nice start to begin the 2025 season. On Sunday, Ramos went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the win over the Cincinnati Reds. The 25-year-old took right-hander Nick Martinez deep in the fifth inning to mark his second homer in three games. Ramos is coming off a solid season in 2024 and is looking to build on it this year. He already has two homers and four RBI, so fantasy managers might want to make sure Ramos isn't sitting around on the waiver wire.

Heliot Ramos Hitting Leadoff Against Lefty
4 days agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos, who homered out of the fifth spot in the batting order on Opening Day on Thursday, is starting in left field and batting leadoff on Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds and left-hander Nick Lodolo at Great American Ball Park. Left-handed hitters Mike Yastrzemski and LaMonte Wade Jr. will start on the bench for this one with a southpaw on the mound. In addition to Ramos' two-run homer against the Reds on Thursday, he struck out three times. The 25-year-old Puerto Rican will be an everyday outfielder for the Giants in 2025 after he made his first All-Star team in 2024 by slashing .269/.322/.469 with a .792 OPS, 22 home runs, 72 RBI, six stolen bases and 54 runs scored in 121 games in his first full MLB season. Ramos will certainly be in play in DFS lineups in the leadoff spot. He's gone hitless in just two career at-bats versus Lodolo.

Heliot Ramos Likely To Hit Leadoff Against Lefties
3 weeks agoIt appears likely that San Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos will be the team's leadoff hitter this year against left-handed pitchers, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Shayna Rubin. That was the case for Ramos on Tuesday in the Cactus League game against Athletics left-hander Jeffrey Springs. In his 123 at-bats versus southpaws last year, Ramos was dialed in with a .370/.439/.750 slash line and 10 home runs, so it makes sense on paper. The 25-year-old has hit a modest .231 (3-for-13) with no homers, one double and two steals in five spring training games, but fantasy managers should take those numbers with a grain of salt. Ramos will be San Fran's starting left fielder in 2025 and will see a boost in fantasy value with his move to the top of the order against lefties. His 20-homer power makes him worth of outfield depth in standard 12-team fantasy leagues.

Heliot Ramos Makes Spring Debut
4 weeks agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos (oblique) made his spring training debut on Tuesday. Ramos went 0-for-2 at the plate with a walk. Ramos was dealing with a minor oblique injury during the start of camp. However, seeing him make his debut in left field suggests he is past this injury and will not face any restrictions by Opening Day. The 25-year-old is expected to be the team's everyday left fielder in 2025. Ramos appeared in just 34 contests during the 2022 and 2023 but saw a drastic increase in playing time in 2024 as he logged 121 contests. Ramos posted a .269/.322/.469 slash line with 23 doubles and 22 long balls. He generated an elite .481 xSLG with a 47.5 percent hard-hit rate. However, he drew walks at a low 7.1 percent rate and struck out at a high 26.1 percent rate. Rams carries intriguing power-power upside heading into 2025.
