Hector Santiago Allows One Run In Spot Start
3 years agoSeattle Mariners pitcher Hector Santiago made a spot start Sunday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk in three innings to the Los Angeles Angels. He struck out one batter. With so many injuries among the Seattle starters, Santiago would figure to be a candidate to remain in the rotation, but his own pending appeal of a 10-game suspension for using sticky substances complicates matters. Santiago has a 3.33 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 29 strikeouts in 24 1/3 innings over 12 appearances, but he doesn't make for an attractive fantasy asset, at least while he's still building up to a regular starter's workload.
