Hector Neris Records First Save Of June
6 years agoNot the outright closer of the Philadelphia Phillies anymore, Hector Neris was given a chance by manager Gabe Kapler on Saturday evening to perhaps reclaim the role. The 29-year-old was summoned to pitch the ninth inning of a 4-1 game after Seranthony Dominguez struck out two batters in a scoreless eighth. Neris, coming off a run allowed his last time out, retired the side in order to record his 10th save of the season. While he was successful on the day, it seems highly unlikely that anything is once again defined in this Phillies bullpen. With the manager very much interested in rotations, nobody should feel safe.
