Hector Neris Nails Down Save In Tenth Inning Wednesday
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Hector Neris retired all three batters he faced to earn his seventh save of the season on Wednesday. Neris was able to pitch around the automatic runner on second base while picking up a strikeout in the extra-inning victory. Neris hasn't been dominant, but he's been getting the job done as the closer for the Phillies and fantasy managers alike. In addition to his seven saves, Neris is pitching to a 2.60 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and is sporting a strong 29.6 percent strikeout rate. He's a must-start closer in any league that values saves.
