Hector Neris Escapes Jam In Save
7 years agoWith the Philadelphia Phillies holding a two-run lead heading into the ninth, manager Gabe Kapler once again handed the ball to Dominican closer Hector Neris. The 28-year-old, who has a penchant for making things difficult, recorded the first out before walking the next man. Once again, he recorded an out, but proceeded that with another walk. Bringing the tying run to the plate, however, Neris managed to record the final out against a pinch hitter. The performance took 29 pitches, but ultimately resulted in his fifth save of the season.
