Heath Fillmyer Saddled With No-Decision
6 years agoKansas City Royals pitcher Heath Fillmyer tossed a gem in his second career start, but he was robbed of the win by Brandon Maurer. Filmyer went 6 2/3 innings while allowing just one earned run and striking out six. His offense even came through for him, but the KC bullpen let him down. Filmyer wasn't impressive at Triple-A this season, posting a 5.75 ERA in 13 starts, but this performance is enough to at least raise an eyebrow. Granted, it was against Detroit, who isn't a very good team, but if Filmyer has discovered something new in his approach, he could possibly turn into a fantasy asset. For now, he's just worth watching.
