Guardians Acquire Wes Parson From Blue Jays
7 months agoThe Cleveland Guardians acquired right-hander Wes Parsons from the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday in exchange for international bonus pool money ($250,000). In a corresponding move, the Guardians moved right-hander Shane Bieber (elbow) to the 60-day injured list. Parsons gets dealt after recently being designated for assignment by Toronto. The 31-year-old appeared twice out of Toronto's bullpen this year and gave up six earned runs on six hits (two home runs) while walking two and striking out two in five innings of work for a 10.80 ERA. Parsons will begin working at Triple-A Columbus for the Guardians and will provide them with relief depth on the farm. In his big-league career, he's posted a 7.40 ERA and 1.87 WHIP with 37 walks and 34 K's in 48 2/3 innings over four years.
