Gregory Soto Records His Third Save On Thursday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers closer Gregory Soto put the finishing touch on the team's 3-0 shutout of the New York Yankees on Thursday. He pitched the final 1 2/3 innings of the game and allowed one hit and no walks while striking out one. He earned his third save in as many opportunities. Soto has pitched a total of 5.2 innings on the year and he's yielded only one earned run so far. The only other Tiger who has received a save opportunity is Michael Fulmer and that only came about because Soto had pitched on back-to-back days. Soto is the Tigers' clear closer and he should have a moderately long leash on him as well.
