Gregory Santos Allows Home Runs Late In Game Tuesday
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Gregory Santos fell to 0-2 in Tuesday's 7-5 extra-innings loss to the Rockies. The rookie came on to pitch the 10th inning with the game tied. He struck Trevor Story out, but then allowed back-to-back home runs to Ryan McMahon and C.J. Cron, giving the Rockies a three-run lead. He was able to escape the inning without allowing any more runs, but the damage had been done. Santos has only made three appearances with the Giants this season but has already allowed five earned runs, leading to a bloated 22.50 ERA. He is one of the Giants higher pitching prospects but has never pitched above A-level prior to this season, so it is understandable that he still has some learning and growing to do as a player.
