Gregory Polanco Undergoes Shoulder Surgery

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco (shoulder, knee) underwent surgery on Wednesday to stabilize a dislocated left shoulder. The Pirates will have more details on a rehab timetable after the surgery is complete. Polanco had already been ruled out for the rest of the year after injuring his knee last week. He got off to a rough start this year but bounced back somewhat to finish with a .254/.340/.499 slash line, 23 home runs, 81 RBI, 75 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 461 at-bats. Jordan Luplow and Pablo Reyes will see more playing time down the stretch with Polanco out.
