Greg Holland Charged With His Fourth Loss Against Indians
3 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Greg Holland was the victim of the Cleveland Indians' come-from-behind victory over the Royals on Thursday. Holland entered in the ninth inning while the game was tied 4-4. He went on to give up a walk-off three-run home run to Franmil Reyes. In total, he pitched 2/3 of an inning, allowing two hits, a walk and three earned runs. Holland has allowed at least one earned run in each of his last three appearances now. The Royals bullpen has struggled as a whole over the past week. Scott Barlow, who converted the team's last two saves, was shelled in a setup role on both Wednesday and Thursday. Holland should be considered the favorite for save opportunities going forward, but the 36-51 Royals have been far from a reliable source of saves all year.
