Greg Bird Activated On Saturday
7 years agoAt long last, the New York Yankees will field the lineup they long envisioned for the 2018 season. That’s because first baseman Greg Bird will be activated before Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim after an ankle injury and surgery that sidelined him since before the season. In his absence, the Yankees used Neil Walker and Tyler Austin to fill in at first base. It was unclear who would be sent down to make room for Bird on the major league roster, and now we know the Ronald Torreyes has been options to Triple-A. If Bird remains healthy, he will undoubtedly be the club’s everyday starter.
