Gordon Hayward Gets Going Again With 27 Points
4 years agoCharlotte Hornets small forward Gordon Hayward had a team-high 27 points in Monday's win over San Antonio, shooting 9-for-19 from the field, including 3-for-4 from downtown, and 6-for-6 at the charity stripe. He also picked up seven rebounds, six assists, and one steal with three turnovers in 37 minutes. Hayward entered the contest off the back of a few cold shooting nights and badly needed to regain some rhythm, which he did. He can now look forward to a trip to Houston. It's a tricky spot for the 31-year-old, as the Rockets have solid defensive numbers against small forwards, and they limited Hayward to 19 points and 36 percent shooting in this year's first meeting.
