Gleyber Torres Drills First Career Grand Slam
5 years agoIn the midst of their second six-run inning Wednesday afternoon, the New York Yankees had one last major blow and it came off the bat of their star young infielder. Gleyber Torres, once again starting at shortstop, blasted a grand slam in the seventh, extending his club's lead to 12-1. It was his first grand slam, as the 22-year-old is now batting .283 with 16 home runs and 40 RBI. Torres and the Yankees are on a roll now, having swept their nearest division rival to extend their lead by a full three games.
