Gleyber Torres' Back Issue Doesn't Appear To Be Serious
3 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres (back) isn't believed to be dealing with a serious injury, per manager Aaron Boone. Torres was forced to exit Thursday's game with lower back stiffness, which he sustained while turning a double play against the Toronto Blue Jays. Boone said that the 24-year-old received treatment during the game and that the club will assess where he's at Friday ahead of the opening game of their series against the Oakland Athletics. While it appears that Torres has avoided serious injury, it still wouldn't be surprising to see him sit out a game. Gio Urshela would likely draw a start at shortstop in that instance.
