3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals closer Giovanny Gallegos threw a scoreless ninth inning to save a 1-0 win over the Kansas City Royals on Monday. Gallegos struck out two and allowed one hit in the frame. The 30-year-old reliever worked around a two-out single to Carlos Santana to slam the door on the Royals on Monday afternoon. Gallegos now has a 0-1 record, 5.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and seven strikeouts in eight innings of work while converting five of six save chances on the year.--Matt T - RotoBaller
