Giants Willing To Trade Madison Bumgarner
6 years agoThe San Francisco Giants and new president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi are willing to listen to trade offers for starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner this winter, according to multiple sources. The Brewers and Phillies are among the teams that have had preliminary talks about Bumgarner. The Braves also checked in earlier in the offseason. Bumgarner is only under contract for one more year at $12 million and could help replenish the team's weak farm system. Zaidi is likely to ask for at least one high-end pitching prospect in a Bumgarner trade. The left-hander has been injured each of the last two years and will turn 30 next August, but he's still a high-end fantasy starter when healthy. Remaining in pitcher-friendly San Fran would be the best for his fantasy value.
