6 years agoThe San Francisco Giants optioned starting pitcher Dereck Rodriguez to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday. Rodriguez has struggled with his command this year, going from 2.74 walks per nine innings in 2018 to 3.73 in 2019. He has allowed 1.98 homers per nine innings, a 5.05 ERA, 5.93 FIP and saw his strikeout rate drop to 15.4 percent with a hard-hit percentage of 46.3 percent. Given the success he saw as a rookie last year, it would be surprising not to see Rodriguez get another shot in the rotation, but he can be dropped in most mixed leagues for now.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
