Giants Call Up Keaton Winn Monday
1 year agoThe San Francisco Giants recalled right-handed pitching prospect Keaton Winn from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday and optioned right-hander Tristan Beck to Sacramento after Sunday's game in a corresponding move. Winn, the team's No. 14 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will make his major-league debut when he gets into a game after going 0-3 with a 4.35 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, 21 walks and 51 strikeouts in 41 1/3 innings over 12 appearances (nine starts) this year for Sacramento. The 25-year-old is expected to give the Giants some length in a multi-inning relief role, so he won't have much fantasy value, if any. Winn's arsenal has improved on the farm and he's developed into an interesting starting option for San Fran. He relies mostly on a fastball-slider combination and is known for pounding the zone.
