Giancarlo Stanton Tallies Five RBI In Orioles Series
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton helped the team complete a three-game sweep of the Baltimore Orioles to start the week. He went 5-for-11 at the plate in the series, compiling one home run, one walk and five RBI. The 32-year-old slugger is now slashing .243/.257/.386 with three home runs, 13 RBI and four runs over 18 games on the year. His 96.7 mph average exit velocity and 118.8 mph max exit velocity both lead the majors and he has a 99th percentile barrel rate (23.4%). Despite those gaudy power metrics, his HR/FB rate is currently sitting at 20%, down from his career 26.6% clip. That suggests that Stanton has had some bad home run luck so far and that we are likely to see an uptick in bombs from him in the coming weeks.
