Giancarlo Stanton Smashes 19th Homer
3 years agoNew York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton went 1-for-3 with a solo homer during a 2-0 win over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday. Stanton connected off of Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi for his 19th HR during the fourth inning. The 31-year-old is hitting .308 during August but is lacking in the power department with only two homers and 11 RBI in 52 at-bats. Stanton patrolled right field during the second game of a doubleheader, giving him eight appearances in the outfield this season. The roster crunch for the Yankees might force the 2017 National League MVP into more playing time in the outfield as opposed to being strictly a DH, potentially giving fantasy managers a little more flexibility with the slugger as he earns OF eligibility.
