Gerrit Cole Strikes Out 12 In Fourth Victory
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole put together another dominant outing in Friday's 10-0 defeat of the Tigers. Cole pitched six shutout innings, allowing just four hits while fanning 12 batters with no walks. The ace right-hander became the first pitcher in Yankees' franchise history to strike out 10-plus batters with no walks in three straight games. Cole generated 21 swinging strikes and an amazing 44 percent CSW mark, as he was his usual dominant self on the mound. He now owns a 4-1 record with a 1.43 ERA and a 62:3 strikeout-to-walk ratio heading into his next outing against his former team, the Astros.
