Geronimo Allison Lined Up In The Slot This Offseason
5 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison looks to be the early favorite to be the Packers slot receiver this offseason. There is an opportunity for a new player to take the role, with Randall Cobb leaving the team to join the Dallas Cowboys this offseason. Allison and Cobb have vastly different body types, but early reports are that he has been impressing in the offseason workouts. Matt LaFleur has worked with larger-type slot receivers with Mohamed Sanu with the Atlanta Falcons, and Cooper Kupp with the Los Angeles Rams with reasonable success. Allison was extremely limited last season due to injury, but in the opening four weeks of the season, he caught 19 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns. The early signs are that Allison should be given the opportunity to be successful this season.
