German Marquez Will Undergo Tommy John Surgery
2 years agoColorado Rockies right-handed hurler German Marquez (elbow) will require Tommy John surgery for his elbow injury sustained in his last start on April 26 before landing on the injured list, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com. That will keep the 28-year-old out until the middle of next season at the earliest. Marquez was in the midst of his eighth season in the big leagues and was running a 4.95 ERA, 21.3% strikeout rate, 1.10 WHIP and two wins across four starts. He's a solid arm in real life, but his fantasy value has always been limited because of his home park. Marquez isn't a significant loss for fantasy managers and can be replaced relatively easily by someone on the waiver wire.
