German Marquez Bit By Bullpen/Manager

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez finished Thursday's outing with an ugly line of six innings pitched with six earned runs, but he didn't pitch all that badly for the majority of it. Entering the seventh inning, Marquez was at 98 pitches and had a quality start under his belt. The game was 3-2 Philly, and manager Bud Black chose to send Marquez back out there. Back-to-back singles with no outs were enough to warrant a mound visit, but he still didn't replace Marquez. Only after Marquez walked JP Crawford on four straight pitches, Black replaced him with lefty Jake McGee. After a passed ball, McGee allowed a two-run double to Rhys Hoskins, someone who is slugging .426 against lefties, leaving Marquez with the ugly numbers and turning a close game into a blowout. Marquez is still a solid, if not spectacular, pitcher when he's on the road, and owners shouldn't get too worried just because of this start.
