Gary Trent Jr. Hits Six Treys During Losing Effort Tuesday
3 years agoToronto Raptors shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. connected for six threes on 50% shooting from behind the arc during a 131-129 overtime loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. The 22-year-old went 9-for-19 overall from the field and 1-for-2 from the line. The Duke product also added two boards, five assists, and three steals across 42 minutes. Trent Jr. is enjoying a breakout season, averaging 17.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.8 treys, and 2.1 steals while shooting 43.3% from the field, including 38.3% from behind the arc, and 89.1% from the line. While he could be an interesting sell-high candidate, Trent Jr. is hoisting up a career-high 14.7 shots per game, suggesting the volume and minutes are legit.
