Gary Sanchez Hits Game-Tying Homer
3 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 6-5 defeat of the Kansas City Royals. Sanchez came up big in the bottom of the ninth, tying the game up with a solo shot. The ball was hammered at 110.9 MPH, traveling 379 feet. Sanchez' red-hot June continues, as he has produced a .305/.369/.712 slash line with six homers, 13 RBI, and 10 runs scored in the month, tying him for third among catchers with 12 long balls. He has been so productive lately that manager Aaron Boone decided to bat him third Wednesday, a slot in the order that has yielded the highest OPS of any spot in the lineup in his career. That's great news for his already-rising fantasy value.
