Gary Sanchez Hits Game-Tying Home Run In Win
6 years agoAttempting to successfully complete their biggest comeback of the season after going down five runs, the New York Yankees slowly fought back against the Seattle Mariners Wednesday night. Down by two in the eighth, Gary Sanchez stepped up as the tying run. The 25-year-old has had incredible struggles for most of the season that culminated with a benching last week. Since then, however, he’s slowly improved, recording at least one hit in four of the ensuing six games. His biggest hit in all of that stretch, however, came on Wednesday as he delivered a game-tying, two-run home run. While he was never going to hit for major average, home runs are his biggest weapon, and one like this one could serve as the fire that ignites him at the plate.
